Faith Independent Christian Academy credits to graduate may differ from the requirements  of transferring back into a public school. The public school system may or may not accept returning Homeschooling students credits, submitted by parent-educators and maintained by Faith Independent Christian Academy. Parent-educators are responsible for providing the homeschooled student with a curriculum and award credit, attendance, and progress reports. Faith Independent Christian Academy Supports home-based-education and offering, tutoring classes, curriculum, and other programs to prepare the student for High School graduation & Standardized Testing. Faith Independent Christian Academy does not require a student to complete our graduation credit requirements, if they are not obtaining a Faith Independent Christian Academy High School Diploma. We believe

in the laws of homeschooling and such parent-educator may issue a parent directed High school Diploma at our graduation ceremonies for a participation fee. The cap, gown, & diploma  may be ordered and purchased through Faith Independent Christian Academy. Graduation Applications should be turned in no later than May 15th. All students must have a Faith Independent Christian Academy Senior Consultation to review graduation requirements

of Faith Independent Christian Academy. No Consultation for parent directed high school diplomas.

  Credits
Credits are assigned for students taking high school courses, not K-8 grade level assignments. K-8 grade level shall receive a grade letter when parent reporting.

Faith Independent Christian Academy utilizes parent-reporting to create an official  transcript for the student. Report Cards and transcripts will be distributed Semi-Annually. There is a $15.00 transcript processing fee. If the student needs an official transcript other than the semi-annual transcript, then their will be a $5.00 dollar charge

for each additional copy provided. Parent-Educators are to report actual courses student has taken.

Please report actual subjects the student has taken for credit accuracy on official transcripts provided by Faith Independent Christian Academy.  Example:  Algebra 1 rather than Math; Biology rather than Science; World History rather than History or Social Studies. Do not give credits for courses such as spelling or grammar as these

are included in each year of English.

The courses that the parent-educator give the student for earned credits on the  Attendance & Progress report form

of Faith Independent Christian Academy will become a part of your student’s official  transcript.  Additional  courses and experience which the parent-educator wish to give student credit for may be applied as credit earned

on students High school transcript or be placed in students portfolio. . This includes honors the

student has received such as: community, volunteer, missions work, etc.

Students Credits For Taking College Courses
Students taking a college-level course by Advanced Placement or dual enrollment should assign the student a half (½) high school credit for a 3 credit college course and assign 1 high school credit for a 5 or 6 credit college

course. Faith Independent Christian Academy will need a copy of the student's official college transcript. The  College Registrar may be able to assist with this process.

Faith Independent Christian Academy Credit Required To Graduate
23 credits are required to graduate. High school normally lasts 4 years which averages out to approximately 5 courses per year, although high school may be completed 2 ½ years which is equivalent = 2 full school years

plus 2 summer schools.

Home-based-educating allows parent-educators the opportunity to create their own curriculum and the student to  participte and earn credit for career skills that may not be offered in a traditional school setting.

Parents may create their own subjects by writing a course description and include what is required to gain mastery  and award credit. Example; a student volunteering at a non-profit organization or human service agency for 150  hours may be awarded an  Elective Credit for Career Course). This provides opportunity for your student to  start developing skills in their chosen career field, and setting career goals One hundred fifty academic hours are  sufficient to earn one high school credit.  And is  equivalent to 180 days of 45-minute classes.
